Kinesiotape is different from other tapes because it is light, sticky, elastic and has the properties of the skin. It does not contain any chemicals. The risk of allergy is low. It can stay on the applied person for 7 days. It integrates with the skin and supports the structures under the skin. Due to its porous structure, it also allows the skin to ventilate. It does not hinder the person's movement in any way.
WHAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AFTER AND AFTER APPLICATION?
-
Before application The skin is cleansed of oil and moisture.
-
Excessive hair in the area where the tape is applied may prevent adhesion, so the area may need to be shaved.
-
The tape adheres to the skin immediately, but the degree of adhesion reaches its highest level within 20-30 minutes.
-
Although gentle pressure and rubbing after application facilitates its adhesion, the tape does not adhere during this period. Strenuous movements should be avoided to avoid causing it to come off.
-
The tape can stay in the applied area for a few days.
-
It does not come off with bathing or swimming. When wet, excess water can be removed with a towel.
-
It can be easily removed when desired without causing any discomfort and does not leave any sticky residue behind.
-
Athletes or Increase the adhesion of the tape in people who engage in strenuous physical activities Extra adhesive can be used to remove the tape.
-
Spray type adhesives are generally preferred, but when additional adhesive is used, it may be difficult to remove the tape from the skin.
PROPERTIES OF KINESIOLOGICAL TAPE
-
Kinesiology tape has been developed to reflect the properties of the skin and its thickness is similar to the epidermis layer of the skin and its elasticity is similar to the elasticity of human skin.
-
Tapes can generally maintain their elasticity for 3-7 days.
-
The adhesive consists of wavy acrylic similar to a fingerprint, does not contain latex and is activated by heat.
-
Thanks to cotton fibers, body moisture evaporates and dries quickly, so it is possible to take a shower, wash the application area and swim while it is stuck on the skin.
-
When the tape gets wet, excess water should be removed with a towel, not rubbed, and allowed to dry.
-
Before application, the skin should be cleaned of oil and moisture and shaved if necessary.
-
It takes 20-30 minutes for the tape to adhere, and movements that will cause sweating should be avoided during this period.
-
Kinesiotaping can be used simultaneously with other physical therapy methods such as cold therapy and electrotherapy. .
