First Attack
It occurs with fever and regional lymph node inflammation in children or young adults. A severe rash lasting 7-10 days may occur in the mouth, lips or face. Herpes can be very mild or asymptomatic.
Recurrent Infection
Recurrent attacks occur in 50% of individuals who had their first herpes attack. is seen. Lesions may appear on the lips, forehead, chin, cheeks, and eyelids. But it always recurs in the same area or adjacent area. It crusts over within 2-4 days and heals within 5-7 days.
HSV infection, whether it is the first attack or recurrent infection, appears as water-filled blisters grouped on a red background on the skin or mucosa. . Once a person is infected with HSV,HSV remains in that person's body for life. When the immune system weakens, it causes herpes again.
Contagion
Contagion occurs by skin-to-skin, skin-to-mucosa, mucosa-to-skin contact. Crowded social life or low socioeconomic level is important in increasing transmission.
