What is Stress?

The psychological state experienced when the challenges to our physical and emotional health exceed our coping resources and abilities is often called stress. (Gunnar & Quevedo, 2007).

Factors That Cause Stress

There are a number of requirements that everyone has to adapt to. Each person's perception of stress is different and their coping mechanisms are not the same. There are many factors that create stress, these are: Individual differences and environmental factors. The amount of stress we experience in the early stages of life may cause us to be more sensitive to stress in later periods. Stress does not affect everyone in the same way. Everyone's ability to withstand stress, that is, their stress tolerance, is different.
