Adolescence is the period in which the individual's physical, psychological and social changes are experienced most rapidly and turbulently, starting with the end of childhood and continuing until adulthood (although it is not clear, between the ages of 11 and 21).
In this period, young people experience the most intense physical, psychological and social changes. Situations where stress is experienced include body image, school success, family, sibling and friend relationships, career choice and indecisiveness about the future.
Sudden physical changes experienced at the beginning of this period may catch the young person unprepared, resulting in outbursts of anger and crying for no reason. and can lead to sudden anger.
Due to the developmental period he is in, the young person asks "who am I?" He searches for answers to his questions and begins to build an identity in line with these answers. For this reason, role confusion and internal conflicts are common.
In this period, young people feel the need for autonomy and turn to friend groups. They both try to become independent from the family and also need the family's love and support. The main feeling young people face during this period is loneliness and the feeling of alienation it brings. When they feel that they are not understood by their parents, conflicts with their parents may occur.
During this period, young people may become irritable, fail to study, their sense of responsibility may decrease, they may become withdrawn, pessimistic, get angry for no reason and react abnormally, become more touchy and restless than they are. They may become angry when they interfere with them, they may lock themselves in their room for most of the time they spend at home, they may want to spend more time with their friends outside, they may behave incompatibly with the house rules, they may criticize their parents.
The period in which the young person is withdrawn is very long and emotional fluctuations are severe, You can consult a specialist in cases where you experience very contrary mood changes, your academic success drops unexpectedly, you are very angry or constantly crying, and you feel that you are having difficulty coping.
