For men and women, the shape and contours of the abdomen and waist are one of the important criteria for body beauty.
In women, the abdomen is flat, the waistline is prominent, the abdominal muscles are somewhat prominent, the part where the belly button is located is more concave than the other parts. (pit)and the lower part of the abdomen are desired to have a slightly oval appearance. Just as a loose, fat belly is not beautiful, a flat wooden abdomen certainly does not provide a beautiful and attractive appearance.
In men, the waist is rounded, the abdomen is flat and the abdominal muscles are prominent, and the lower part of the abdomen ends flat, unlike in women. Having a tummy looks nice.
After birth, various surgical procedures are performed to beautify the abdomen, which is sagging as a result of excessive weight gain and loss, and whose contours are distorted due to fat accumulation, especially in the waist and abdomen.
- To reduce fat deposits and contour: liposuction,
- To tighten the loose and sagging abdomen in the abdominal area:tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) (mini or total) is applied. Both of these procedures can be applied to the patient in the same session.
In liposuction, small holes of 2-3 mm are entered and the fat inside is melted and removed with the help of a vacuum aspirator or injector.
Abdominoplasty. Depending on the degree of looseness of the abdomen, it is performed as a full or mini abdominoplasty. In a full tummy tuck, a 25-30 cm scar remains in the underwear. The abdominal muscles are repaired by tightening. All structures in the abdomen are tried to be restored. In addition, the tissues to be removed during abdominal stretching can be stored and used as a tissue cocktail to provide contour in various parts of the face and body. The surgery scar is red at first. It fades over time and is not very noticeable on most people. In addition, thanks to the healing lasers we have, it is possible to correct the appearance of these scars. Some of our patients also choose to hide their scars with their favorite tattoos. Mini abdominoplasty is performed on patients who are less deformed and have less sagging. Examination of the patient is essential to decide which technique to apply. Because the looseness of the tissues can indicate whether there is a herniation in the abdomen or not. Various conditions can only be understood after the patient is examined.
The most suitable patients for abdominoplasty are those who have lost weight, do not have excess fat, and do not plan to give birth again in the near future. We get the best results in patients whose weight is closest to their ideal weight. In addition, quitting smoking before the surgery is extremely important to prevent undesirable results.
After the tummy tuck and liposuction surgery, the patient is applied a corset and is recommended to use it for at least 6 weeks. There are 2 thin drains (silicone tubes) coming out of the groin area to drain the blood that may accumulate inside for a few days after the tummy tuck surgery. These are removed in 1-3 days when drainage decreases. In order to relieve the tension in the area where the abdominoplasty stitch is located, it is recommended that the patient walk slightly leaning forward for the first week. Applying LPG as recommended by your doctor after the 2nd or 3rd week will allow you to recover faster.
After the surgery, there will be numbness in the abdominal area and this will resolve within 2 weeks to 2 months.
Bleeding, hematoma after the surgery ( There is a risk of complications such as blood accumulation), infection, wound openings, fat necrosis, embolism (clot). However, this probability is quite low in patients who are not very obese, do not smoke, and have been operated on with meticulous surgical technique, especially in patients who receive antibiotic treatment before surgery. With the right patient selection and the right technique, these negativities are almost never seen in practice. One of the most important factors in abdominal and waist contouring surgeries is the surgeon's aesthetic view, surgical technique and skill. Correct management of patient expectations ensures that both the patient and the surgeon are happy.
