From your thoughts full of disaster scenarios. How much of it is in your power to protect yourself from emotions such as anxiety and fear created by those thoughts? Organisms that encounter new situations need some time to adapt to this situation. A person who encounters unfamiliar and threatening situations uses some coping mechanisms against the events he experiences. He may feel helpless when the materials he has are insufficient.
Our brain mechanism, which automatically comes into play in the face of such situations or threats, may remain constantly active.
The way to activate the other part again is to "breathe" in a healthy way. BREATHING again? Yes!
There are two parts in the autonomic nervous system: these parts are called Sympathetic and Parasympathetic. When a threat is detected, the sympathetic part of the brain comes into play. When the threat is eliminated, the Parasympathetic part comes into play when peace is achieved. That's why you should breathe correctly and make your nervous system work in the healthy state it needs to work. Constantly being in the other part will wear you out both physically and spiritually.
If we have agreed on this issue, I can move on to my second suggestion: Happiness or feeling good is not something that can happen spontaneously, it is not offered to us spontaneously, it is not given for free, or it is a situation that is forgiven. not. You need to make an effort for this.
We all have basic needs, one of the most important of which is the need to feel safe, I know there may be times when you cannot feel this very much. Sometimes external realities beyond the person's control may not allow this. Then take shelter inside a little more. Create your safe zone in that place where no one can reach you, despite everything that is happening in the outside world. When you feel suffocated and overwhelmed, escape there and breathe.
No one can interfere with your fantasies and images, but you can.
What will be very effective and strengthen you in coping with intense stress is to create your own "safe zone".
Unfortunately, there have been wars on this earth for centuries. Children and adults have to continue breathing in those wars. how hard Whatever the circumstances, if we are still alive, we must at least do something to get closer to the state of well-being.
Of course, achieving and maintaining a state of well-being requires special efforts. It is certain that those who have been able to provide these conditions in their lives will be more immune to depression than others. The conditions for general happiness, well-being, and the struggle to live a quality life even in difficult conditions are at least as follows:
Having social foundations; to love and be loved; having established a good family; Having a social life with children, friends and close friends. So less prejudice, more empathy. We need each other.
Being productive, being self-actualizing, and having plans for the future. I don't know if I need to say it, but of course these must be promising projects. Because poets are right people, they only exist in this world as much as they can hope for.
Having free time activities, having recreational pursuits and being able to do them regularly, being able to spare time for oneself. I'm talking about a time when you only care about your own inner voice and needs. I want you to show the same care when meeting with yourself as you do when you make an appointment with someone else.
Having no anxiety about the future, feeling safe, and having the necessary conditions prepared for this. I mentioned the necessary conditions a little above. Until all these conditions are ready in our outer world, we will benefit from our inner world. Because time flies. Let's not allow ourselves to be so immodest as to fill every second of our limited life with anxiety. Let's use our life credit well.
Daily stress can be kept at acceptable levels. If you can't do anything, go hug a tree tightly. It will be good.
And like all bad things, this too will pass with effort, time and patience.
With love and respect…
