CANAL TREATMENT
During dental treatments, the tooth is tried to be kept alive as much as possible. However, if it is not possible to treat and preserve the dental pulp alive, root canal treatment is applied to the tooth. In root canal treatment, the nerve tissue of the tooth is removed, this space is shaped, cleaned mechanically and chemically, and filled with canal filling materials up to the tip of the tooth root.
DENTAL PULPA
CURGE OF THE DENTAL PULP
If tooth decay is left untreated, it progresses over time and reaches the nerve of the tooth, causing inflammation of the pulp. •Pulp inflammation gradually causes necrosis-death of the pulp over time. Necrosis can also develop as a result of trauma. As a result of rupture, cracking or compression in the vessels entering from the root tip of the tooth due to sudden trauma, the pulp cannot be nourished and after a while the tooth becomes necrotic. After a certain period of time, microorganisms begin to grow inside the necrotic pulp. Over time, microorganisms affect the tissues around the root of the tooth, causing inflammation at the root tip. •Due to the gingival pockets formed in periodontal diseases, the pulp may be affected through the side channels inside the tooth. For these reasons, it is not possible to preserve the pulp alive. root canal treatment should be applied.
CANAL TREATMENT
IF THE TOOTH IS NOT TREATED IN TIME
In cases where the dental pulp is damaged due to caries, trauma or periodontal disease, the tooth loses its vitality and over time the infection spreads to the entire tooth. If the tooth is not treated in this case, the infection affects the tissues around the root, causing the bone to dissolve in that area. An abscess occurs in this space formed in the bone. Abscess is accompanied by swelling and pain, and the tooth may be lost in a short time. MUST CONSULT A PHYSICIAN WITHOUT WASTING TIME.
LIFETIME OF A ROOT TREATMENT TOOTH
Although a root canal treated tooth loses its vitality and is seen as weaker, if it is restored well and the person maintains adequate oral hygiene. It can remain in the mouth for a lifetime.
