What is Radiofrequency?
Radio Frequency Method has been used by otolaryngology, cardiology, plastic surgery, neurosurgery and oncology physicians since the 1990s.
Radio waves are transmitted through special electrodes. By giving
under the mucosa of the area to be applied at certain frequencies, the tissue volume is reduced by providing a controlled, local temperature increase and denaturation of the proteins in the tissue.
The heat created in the tissue with radiofrequency energy, under the mucosa. It also reduces the number of secretory cells and treats unwanted excessive nasal discharge. The most important advantage of radiofrequency is that it is a controlled
method and that it shows its effect within the tissue and does not damage the tissue surface.
Radiofrequency is used extremely safely and successfully in nose flesh reduction.
Is Hospitalization Required?
Radiofrequency is a method that is easy to apply and very comfortable for the patient. It does not require hospitalization. Limited anesthesia is usually sufficient, there is no need for general anesthesia.
How Long Does the Radiofrequency Procedure Take?
Radiofrequency energy is delivered into the tissue with the help of special electrodes. The procedure takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
What Should I Pay Attention to After Having This Procedure Done?
After the nose procedures, normal life and work can be returned immediately. There are no restrictions on eating, drinking or daily activities. There is usually no need to use antibiotics. However, there may be pain for a few days after the palate, uvula and tongue root applications. Acidic, solid
and hot foods and drinks should be avoided.
When is a Control Required After Radiofrequency Application?
Patients are called for a control 5-7 days after radiofrequency application. The sticky secretion and crusting formed inside the nose is cleaned if necessary. Rechecking may be required after 1 month. The real
relief will occur after 3-4 weeks.
When Will My Complaints End After Radiofrequency Application?
The swelling that occurs from the first day when radiofrequency is applied to the nasal concha, that is, the lower turbinates.
/> Increase in nasal congestion occurs due to edema. within 3–4 weeks Due to the shrinkage in the tissue, the obstruction gradually decreases and breathing becomes easier.
After radiofrequency is applied to the soft palate and tonsil areas, there may be pain, a feeling of swelling,
stuttering, and slight difficulty in swallowing in the first days. Therefore, it may be necessary to apply 3-4 sessions of radiofrequency.
Is Repeat Radiofrequency Required?
If the result obtained in some patients is not sufficient, radiofrequency application can be repeated.
For nasal congestion, usually 1-2 sessions are required. radiofrequency is sufficient.
