Are We Running Away From Our Responsibilities?

We should not ignore that we have responsibilities towards ourselves as well as towards others. We only truly have things to give to other people when we can give to ourselves. For example; Parents who do not know how to live can give advice to their children and apply rules as much as they want, but those advice or rules do not serve as a guide for the child in their children's future lives. When people fulfill their responsibilities towards themselves, they only value themselves.

People may experience events throughout their lives that they cannot cope with and that they describe as negative, against their will. As a result of these events, they may blame themselves, get angry at themselves, or feel lonely. In such situations, they can avoid their own responsibilities. Those who are always in a state of sadness or fatigue use this situation to avoid fulfilling their responsibilities. They are tired even when they start the day in the morning and it is very difficult for them to do even the simplest daily tasks. At one point, all these behaviors serve as a message to the people around them. It lowers the expectations of those around him to fulfill his responsibilities. These symptoms begin during the day and usually end in the evening.

From time to time, people may be tired due to the intense pace of working life and may avoid their responsibilities outside of work. What is really meant here is that if individuals still keep their work on their agenda when they get out of the intense work tempo, then they are running away from their own daily responsibilities.

People can limit their relationships with other people in order to escape the responsibility of living themselves. Sometimes they may ignore their own responsibilities by being too involved in other people's problems.

Sometimes we want our responsibilities to be undertaken by someone else. Sometimes we take responsibility for someone else, but we also need to know how to say no to people when necessary. In a way, this is a responsibility we have towards ourselves.

The energy we spend to postpone our responsibilities is much more than the energy we will spend while doing it. Yes, it is too much. We all have the right to be lazy or do nothing from time to time, but we must use this right in the right place and at the right time. The things we avoid doing by saying "I can't do it" are actually the things we want to do. The things we don't want to do never come to my mind anyway.
