Wait for me Happiness, I need to prepare a bit

While happiness is an emotion that we should feel within ourselves, we constantly attribute it to things coming from outside. I will be happy when I buy a new car, I will be happy when I get married…, I will be happy when I have a child…, I will be happy when I get divorced…, I will be happy when I pass the exam…, I will be happy when I get a promotion. So happiness turns into a goal and for this we always have to wait for something. When what we expect happens, it becomes a short-term momentary feeling of well-being. In fact, is what we feel at that moment really “Happiness”? or “Enthusiasm”?

So what is happiness? It's a feeling that we can't even describe exactly, but everyone defines it differently. For some it means not being unhappy, for some it means having social status and a career, for some it means being rich or having a peaceful family life. But we have a general mistake: we always attribute this phenomenon called happiness to something. However, happiness is a "Feeling". Unfortunately, if we code it into the things we buy or own, it will be nothing but fleeting, momentary elevations that will always remain outside of us!

When defining happiness, we tend to equate it with joy and an exaggerated state of well-being. However, happiness; It's something we can feel when sharing a sad moment with a loved one. Or just watching our child smile, playing with our cat, humming a song we love.

I think happiness is a bit exaggerated when our repertoire of emotions is so wide. As humans, experiencing every emotion is something that enriches us spiritually. But when we are caught up in the expectation of just being happy, we miss the precious "Moments" where we can feel much deeper emotions. Maybe life; The art of feeling each "Moment" with awareness and living it skillfully. In other words, it is a set of "Moments" where all the emotions we experience are blended. We are waiting for it like a train that will come three months later or a year later. However, happiness is not a result, it is a life journey where we enjoy the process.

Happiness is not something we can achieve by waiting, preparing, or ordering. As all positive sciences, religions, all ancient teachings say. “Happiness is Within Us”. Things outside can only activate if we let it. But it cannot depend on any person or situation. if so Even if so, it cannot be sustainable. Remember the feeling you get when things you've been waiting for for a long time come true. At first, a short-term "Pleasure" followed by a huge emptiness. Maybe even disappointment. Is this what I've been waiting for all this time? Was that all?.. We attach such meanings to that expectation that it is never enough when it comes true.

As a result, when happiness does not depend on people and situations, when its source is fed from within ourselves, it turns into a continuous Phenomenon, no matter what we experience. let's live.

Last word; Are you waiting for happiness to come to you? You can wait longer!!
