Sexual Counseling is a process of creating awareness for all kinds of problems that may be encountered regarding sexual development, sexual orientation, sexual identity and sexual life.

It provides solutions to all kinds of emotional and behavioral problems of individuals related to sexuality, and aims to improve and protect their mental health. To solve problems due to reasons such as misinformation-myths, wrong experiences, anxiety, perspective on sexuality, to raise awareness, to provide sexual information, to solve problems related to sexuality (premature or late ejaculation, contraction, erection problems, sexual reluctance, painful sexuality, etc.). We can call sexual therapy the techniques and methods used to resolve sexual problems, to enable couples or individuals to know themselves and their partners, to resolve sexual conflicts, to reduce the anxiety and tension arising from these conflicts, and to improve and mature the relationships between couples.

We can call sexual therapy. There may be psychological and physiological reasons that make it difficult for them to experience sexuality in a healthy and enjoyable way. Psychological reasons can generally be misbeliefs, knowledge and experiences regarding sexuality acquired from childhood, sexual experiences without being ready, sexual harassment, negative emotions caused by the first sexual experience, relationship and interaction problems with the partner, etc. />
These negative emotions prevent the person from performing the sexual act normally and getting pleasure. Although there are sexual problems that occur due to physical reasons, sexual problems depend more on psychological and social factors. If the sexual problem is caused by a medical or biological reason, urologists and gynecologists and obstetricians provide the treatment.

In such a case, it would be more functional to continue with a sexual counselor, as the biological problem may also affect it psychologically.
