The most common sexually transmitted diseases in men and their treatments are briefly explained below.

HPV (Condyloma): It is a viral infection and is transmitted by skin contact. There are over 100 types and more than 40 types are transmitted through sexual intercourse. According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is the most common sexually transmitted disease in men and women in the world.

Clinical: Warts caused by HPV often heal spontaneously. Healing of genital warts does not indicate that the virus is gone from the body. Unless the immune system is weakened, genital warts do not recur.

Protection from HPV: Using a condom in sexual intercourse and having a small number of partners is very important to protect against HPV. It is reported that the administration of the HPV vaccine (Gardasil) until the age of 26 is protective against genital warts and cervical cancer in women.

Gardasil vaccine:It has just come into use in our country. It has protection against HPV type 6, type 11, type 16 and type 18. The recommended form (it is administered as a preventive vaccine to boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 26 in some countries around the world) is in 3 doses. It is administered in 3 doses at 0, 2 months and 6 months. It is licensed only for use by women in our country.

Genital wart treatment:Electrocauterization, cryotherapy or solution treatment may be recommended.

Chlamydia: It manifests itself as burning during urination, pain in the lower abdomen and discharge at the tip of the penis. Sometimes it does not cause any symptoms. You are the cure 1-week antibiotic treatment is given.

Genital Herpes:It manifests itself with itchy, painful lesions in the genital area. Some herpes lesions crust over. Carrier status is common in society. Antiviral agents are used in its treatment. Treatment may be difficult in patients using immunosuppressive therapy.

16% of men between the ages of 14 and 49 have the Herpes virus. It does not cause any harm to the patient.

It can occur in cases of stress, fatigue and fever.

It is transmitted by contact. . When it relapses, attention should be paid to hygiene, shared towels should not be used, and if possible, sexual intercourse should not be attempted during that period.
