FACIAL AESTHETICS

With aging, the collagen content in tissues begins to change. Facial volume loss develops. With the effect of gravity, an aged face appearance appears. Any changes under the skin are easily noticed. With the trauma that time creates in the human body, the elastic feature is lost and defects cannot be closed. In addition, wrinkles that appear due to over-exertion of facial expression muscles give us a tired expression. While the voluminous tissues in the front and above add a youthful appearance to the face, the tissues with reduced volume in the back and below cause an old and tired expression.

We take this surgical philosophy as a basis when performing facial rejuvenation surgery. As we eliminate the lack of volume and move the downward-sliding structures to their former places, we can obtain aesthetically beautiful, vigorous faces. We remove the excess skin by hiding it in the folds.

The effect of aging on the face is discussed in two groups; The first is the central ovale region, which we call the forehead, eyes, eyebrow edges, nasal groove and around the mouth. The second part is the parts below this area, namely the cheek, lower chin and neck part. The part we are trying to define with the midface is the central ovale. The separation between the lower eyelids and cheeks becomes apparent with age. The groove and line running from the outer part of the nose to the corner of the mouth becomes deep and distinct. Facial rejuvenation performed by applying surgery to the area we call the central ovale is also known as mid-face lift. It is performed to solve problems such as downturned cheeks, expression lines on the forehead, droopy and frowning eyebrows.

This surgery is performed through a 3-4 cm incision into the scalp. The eyebrow and temple are tightened through this incision. In the other method, make an incision just below the eyelashes. It is worked by. The cheek is pulled up. Eye bags and sagging lid skin can be removed. In mid-face lift surgery, which takes an average of 3 to 4 hours, is performed under general anesthesia, and requires an overnight stay in the hospital, the stitches and face bands are removed after 5 days. The time required for the edema to subside and the face to settle is three months. With this surgery, the cheek is brought onto the cheekbone. At the same time, the temple is stretched and the lower eyelid distance is reduced. The deep bump between the inner part of the eye and the cheek is corrected. Sometimes fat injection can also be combined. Early complications of the surgery include inflammation and blood collection. Nerves in the area may be damaged. There may be asymmetry in late-term results.
