I would like to talk about it as general information in a practical way. First of all, I would like to remind you that these will be my personal recommendations for my own patients (it would be ideal to know what type of material is used inside and outside the nose, for those who want to get detailed information on this subject; contact)
day: Do not bathe or shower. Rest well, with your head above heart level. Listen to music with headphones. Follow the advice given to you and do not neglect your medications. You may start to be a little coy to those around you, of course..:)
From the 1st day after the surgery: You can take a shower. But, it should not be an extremely hot environment and water. Heat can dilate the nasal veins and cause nose bleeding. Keep in mind that the upper nose mold may loosen due to water vapor and getting wet.
You can take a body shower with warm water. Do not bend your head forward. Water should not get on the nose. (Excessive water vapor should not enter the nose.) You can also wash and wipe your face.
After Rhinoplasty: How should the hair be washed? During bath/shower or just your hair..
You can wash your hair and head by tilting your head back!
Do not wash your hair by bending over with your head forward..!
Don't bend forward. Bleeding in the form of leakage from the nose may occur due to increased pressure (even though it is unlikely) and may disturb you.
1. You can wash your hair yourself at home, carefully.
2. If a relative can help, it is even better.
3.Or, you can go to the hairdresser. The decision is yours..
What should you do if you have a nosebleed?
If you are in a hot bathroom, you should get out immediately. If the nosebleed is more than a few drops, it is best to draw cold water into the nostril without bending your head forward. However, having intranasal silicone-derived supports (silastic) or another material (bumper) placed in the nose at the end of the surgery in the first days will greatly reduce the effect of cold water. If bleeding continues in the form of leakage, your doctor should definitely be aware of it…
Depending on the surgery performed on you, the approach to stopping an ongoing nosebleed varies. r. However, in an environment where there is heat, excessive water vapor, and hair washing done by tilting your head, etc. You should keep in mind that movement may cause nosebleeds - even if it is unlikely -... You need to be careful in this regard..
