Botulinum toxin is a substance that has been known to exist for more than 100 years, has been known to exist for more than 50 years, and has been used for medical purposes for more than 50 years. Its first uses were for lazy eye syndrome (strabismus), inability to move the eyelids (blepharospasm) and neck stiffness (cervical dystonia).
It was first used in 2002 to eliminate wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows.
It started to be used in 2004 to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and in 2010 to reduce migraine headaches.
A misconception about Botox is that it completely paralyzes the facial muscles. This may also happen if too much is applied, but doctors are careful to use Botox in doses that restrict the movements of the muscles but do not completely paralyze them. BOTOX/DYSPORT INJECTION HOW TO PREPARE?
Botox/Dysport is supplied by the manufacturer in the form of crystalline powder in glass bottles. The practitioner mixes this with liquid. If little liquid is given, it will concentrate. If too much is given, …….. happens. For this reason, you should question how the injection was prepared, not the amount of injection given to you. Just because the application injects a large amount of fluid does not mean that a sufficient amount of botox/dsyport has been applied.
WHAT IS STOMACH BOTOX?
It is applied to outpatients. is the application of botox / dysport injection to some parts of the stomach by endoscopic method. Botox injection creates a prolonged feeling of fullness in the stomach.
This effect lasts for 6 months. It takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes.
Patients can return to their normal lives immediately after the procedure.
While it takes 3 - 4 hours for the stomach to empty after breakfast in a normal person, this period takes 3-4 hours for a person who has stomach botox. It takes 9 – 10 hours. It also makes the patient feel full and reduces the amount of food consumed during the day.
