Myomas and Ovarian Cysts

Myomas

Another disease we frequently see in women is myomas. Myomas can appear in different sizes and in different places. They can be seen in the outer membrane, middle layer or inner membrane of the uterus. It can cause different complaints depending on its size and location. Irregular vaginal bleeding, groin-waist pain, prolonged menstrual bleeding are some of these. Myomas are monitored and examined. and treatments are determined according to the complaints caused by the patient. In some cases, the most appropriate solution is for the patient to undergo surgery. While myomectomy is performed in young patients by removing only the myoma and leaving the uterus, in older people the myoma can be removed completely along with the uterus. This is also called hysterectomy.

However, in most patients, this problem can be overcome with simple medical treatments without the need for surgery.

Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts are one of the most common problems in women with the onset of ovulation. These are mostly detected incidentally during ultrasound, but they may worry the patient. However, the majority of these cysts are harmless and regress with simple treatments. After we determine that these cysts are harmless by performing an ultrasound and asking for some tests, we can relieve our patients' concerns and treat them.
