It is preferred in cases where the skin is intact but there is widespread tumor involvement in the nipple and breast tissue.
Nipple-sparing mastectomy: It can be performed in cases where there is widespread tumor involvement in the breast and the nipple and areola are intact. If cancer spread is detected, armpit lymph nodes are removed. If there is no spread of cancer, it is not removed. The presence or absence of cancer cells in the armpit lymph nodes plays an important role in deciding on the treatment to be performed after surgery (Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy).
2-RADIOTHERAPY (RAY THERAPY) Thanks to technological innovations in the field of radiotherapy, satisfactory results are obtained from this treatment. Postoperative radiation therapy is given to the breast, armpit and chest wall, aiming to destroy cancer cells that may remain in this area. In breast cancer treatment, radiotherapy is performed to protect the remaining tissue of the breast and prevent regional recurrence.
3-CHEMOTHERAPY (DRUG TREATMENT)Chemotherapy is the administration of one or more drugs to the patient in order to destroy cancer cells. In breast cancer, chemotherapy is mostly applied to destroy cancer cells that may be found in any part of the body after surgery.
Neoadjuvant chemotherapy: Chemotherapy can be administered before surgery, especially in patients with a delay in diagnosis. The purpose here is to perform surgery on other parts of the body before surgery. It is to destroy cancer cells that may have arisen.
4-HORMONOTHERAPY (HORMONE TREATMENT) The aim of hormone therapy is to reduce the amount of hormones in breast cancer patients who are sensitive to female hormones. In cancers that are sensitive to the estrogen hormone, cancer cells grow and multiply faster under the influence of estrogen. To prevent this, drugs are used to eliminate the effect of estrogen.
