WHAT IS A TIC DISORDER?
Tic disorders are rapid, rhythmic and involuntary muscle movements that begin suddenly. Tics are usually precursors and clear symptoms of internal tensions or conflicts.
Although tic disorders are seen at all ages, they are more common between the ages of 7-11.
What are the Types of Tics?
1)Movement Tics (motor tics)
Eye blinking, nose wrinkling, lip licking, head shaking, shoulder shrugging, finger cracking, foot shaking, copropraxia (involuntary obscene movements - making signs) etc.
2)Vocal Tics (vocal tics)
Coughing, sniffling, throat clearing, whistling, echolalia (repeating the other person's words), coprolalia (obscene speech), etc.

The child's tic should not be made fun of, pressure should not be created by constantly warning,
The child should be shown attention and love,
The child should make his tic behavior known. If the patient exhibits the child in a situation or a certain environment, this environment or situation should be thoroughly reviewed,
It should not be forgotten that the tic behavior develops beyond the child's control.
