Implant treatment is a painless procedure performed under local anesthesia. If the patient's systemic condition is suitable, implant planning can be started. Necessary examinations (panoramic film - tomography) are performed. Bone status and additional surgical protocols are determined. The number of implants is planned according to the number of missing teeth. A sufficient amount of implants should be planned to accommodate the forces during chewing. This number varies depending on whether the tooth is mobile or fixed.
After the necessary examinations are completed, if the bone structure is suitable and a small number of implants are to be applied, the implant application is completed in a single session and in one day. If self-dissolving stitches are not used, the stitches will be removed after 1 week. A 3-month period of formation of the implant-bone connection is expected. Afterwards, the implant-supported prosthesis part is completed within 1 or 2 weeks.
If many implant applications will be performed under local anesthesia; The operation can be divided into 2 sessions. However, it is also possible to complete the procedure in one go with sedation or general anesthesia, with the patient semi-conscious or asleep. Sedation can be performed in clinics and outpatient clinics if adequate equipment is provided. Operating room conditions are required for general anesthesia.
Additional surgical procedures may be required in patients with insufficient bone amount, and the number of procedures and sessions may be extended accordingly.
