Stretch marks (striae) are a current problem for almost everyone, both men and women. It develops as a result of the skin losing its elasticity due to reasons such as rapid weight gain and loss, pregnancy, adolescence, and excessive sports.
It is most commonly seen in the abdomen, chest, hips, arms and legs. During and after pregnancy, vertical lines are most commonly observed on the abdomen
and breasts, while during adolescence, horizontal lines, called growth lines
, are mostly observed on the back and legs.
Stretch marks are red-purple in the early period. It is colored and turns white over time. The most suitable
time for treatment is the early period, that is, red-purple colored stretch marks respond faster to treatment.
Treatment methods depend on the age of the patient, the area where the crack is located, the period of the crack (early-late), the skin
/> varies depending on the severity of elasticity loss.
The main devices used in the treatment are;
Fractional carbon dioxide laser
Plasma energy (PLEXR)
Needle radiofrequency (SCARLET)
Dermapen. p>
Fractional carbon dioxide and plasma energy are the first choice devices used in the treatment of severe and intense cracks, generally in winter months, in areas that do not receive sunlight. If loss of elasticity is at the forefront, collagen tissue can be stimulated by applying heat under the tissue with a needle radiofrequency device before fractional laser. Treatments performed with these devices can also be combined with PRP (platelet rich plasma). The growth factors in the serum obtained by PRP are given to problematic areas and help the tissue
renew itself.
Other devices are available in our clinic, except fractional carbon dioxide laser. We use several treatment methods together, not a single device
depending on the patient.
