Agave syrup, another popular sweetener; It contains 90% fructose. It may be considered healthy due to its low glycemic index, but due to its high fructose content, it quickly turns into fat and can cause fatty liver in sedentary individuals. Long-term use of agave syrup can cause serious health problems. An excessive consumption of fructose over a long period of time has been reported to be harmful. In fact, fructose differs from other sugars in that it is metabolized directly in the liver. This sugar therefore accumulates in the form of hepatic triglycerides leading to metabolic dysfunction. Additionally, many studies have shown that long-term consumption of a fructose-rich diet is associated with glucose intolerance and deterioration of blood pressure
Coconut Sugar:
Coconut sugar, It is a sweetener traditionally used in South and South East Asian cuisine. It is produced from the phloem sap of the coconut palm tree (Cocos nucifera L.) flower. Then it is boiled and ground.
When compared to table sugar, coconut sugar has a higher glucose rate, lower fructose and sucrose rates, so its glycemic index is lower than table sugar.
