How madly we strive to avoid anxiety in our age; We do our best so that our comfort is not disturbed, who knows what we may be avoiding while chasing perpetual happiness... However, none of the great ideas, great developments and great discoveries were born in such an environment. Motivational speakers, live-in-the-moment bullshit, and anything that makes us believe we have to be happy only makes us feel even more helpless, I think. Because there is no such thing as permanent happiness. Happiness, like everything else in life, is finite and one ends and another comes. In fact, if we can pursue something that will add meaning to our lives in order to live a meaningful life rather than a happy life, those meanings or meanings can protect us from being dragged into emotional disaster when we are unhappy, feel bad, or find ourselves in intractable situations. The meanings we will create or find in our lives are, of course, temporary, like everything else, instead of developing, changing or a new one; however, the things that give meaning to life can be much more permanent and much longer-lasting than moments of happiness.
Albert Camus, the architect of the philosophy of the absurd, says in his work “The Myth of Sisyphus”: “It happens that decors collapse. Getting out of bed, tram, four hours of work, food, sleep and in the same harmony, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, this road is often easily followed. Just one day "why?" rises, and everything begins in this confusion-smelling boredom. "Starts", that's what matters. Boredom is at the end of the acts of a machinic life, but it also initiates the movement of consciousness. It wakes it up, makes way for the rest. The rest is unconscious re-chaining or definitive awakening. After the awakening, the result comes in time; suicide or recovery. Taken by itself, there is something repulsive in boredom. Here I have to conclude that it is a good thing. Because everything starts with consciousness, everything can have a value only with it. There is nothing new in these observations. But it is important that they be open; That's enough for a little review of the misfit's sources for a while. Simple "anxiety" is at the beginning of everything.”
As long as we stay inside our comfort zone, we don't have anything to worry about. We don't need to worry, and anxiety - that's what everyone is trying to avoid deadly - is actually a very important catalyst to get us going. The important thing is to come to a point where we can understand what to do with that anxiety, how to get to know it, and what it wants to tell us. In evolutionary terms, anxiety is an important feeling to keep us alive, and if we can still worry about something, it means we want to stay alive. Anxiety disorders etc. If we live in situations, this does not mean that we should stay in them; In such cases, we are developing symptoms because we do not know what to do with that anxiety.
Voltaire in his book "Candide" humorously criticizes Leibniz's statement that "this world we live in is the best of all possible worlds". Based on this thought, Candide tries to prove to himself what a wonderful place the world is, but his faith is shaken as a result of all kinds of disasters. A Turkish farmer is the owner of the simple but wonderful words that will lead him to the idea that despite everything, life is worth living: “We must cultivate our garden.”
The truth is that I cannot promise you a rose garden; No one but you can promise you this garden. You can have a rose garden only if you plant it yourself. If you don't want roses, maybe you can plant other flowers. The important thing is to plant that garden constantly, and only you can revive your own garden. Even roses in a perfect rose garden wither and bloom again, sometimes it rains as much as we want, sometimes it suffers a long drought, sometimes weeds we don't want grow, crows haunt our garden. But despite all this, as long as you spend your days by not giving up taking care of your garden and the flowers in your garden, even if there is even a single rose left in that garden, that garden continues to live and stay alive.
This is how human life is, full of ups and downs, uncertainties surround us all around us, although it scares us, uncertainty is also the most important thing that makes life attractive. important thing to me. How boring life would be if everything we were going to do was predetermined! Anxiety is part of being human and we can't throw it away; we suppress or turn into dysfunctional symptoms the most frost; but we cannot destroy it. In the event that it disappears, there is no hope and we cannot find a meaning in life when we are not worried. I wish you to turn your eyes to yourself, step out of your comfort zone and show the courage to start planting your garden. “Don't wander, plant your garden!”
