Mental Intelligence, which has attracted attention in recent years, has been defined by researchers as Today, let's look at the content of this concept, which is considered even more important than IQ.
Emotional Intelligence, or EQ, is the ability to understand one's own and others' emotions and to use this understanding in social life. It has been observed that people with high EQ are closer to success in all areas of life. The main thing here, the point that brings a person to success, is to express one's emotions in the right place and in an appropriate way by remaining aware of the other person's emotions.
EQ is more important than IQ because, even if an individual who does not have emotional intelligence competence has academic and professional competence. They become unhappy people because they cannot even establish correct social relationships.
Emotional Intelligence has 5 dimensions;
1) Self-Awareness. ; being aware of one's own emotions and recognizing them

3) Personal motivation; The individual uses his/her own emotions as a driving force towards the goal he/she wants to achieve
4) Empathy; The individual's ability to understand the emotions of others and to perceive the non-verbal messages they send
5) Social skills; As a result of the individual understanding the emotions of others, he can manage them at a higher level.
Undoubtedly, the world-famous American psychologist Daniel Goleman has a great contribution to the popularization of the concept of EQ. Daniel Goleman, author of the book 'Emotional Intelligence', also gives a social message in his book;
'THE EXTENT DEMOCRACY COSTS TO SOCIETY IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE LEVELS OF THE INDIVIDUALS.'
