Formula of Happiness

“Is there a formula for happiness?” Don't say. After long studies, scientists have developed a formula for what makes us happy. This formula can be effective, but I recommend a simpler way to my clients than scientific formulas and absolute truths.

Positive psychology master Martin Seligman revealed that happiness depends on many variables.

Among these variables. There are items such as social relations, self-realization and nurturing the strengths of our character (you may not believe it, but money is not among these variables!). I have no doubt that the findings of positive psychology are absolutely scientific and effective. But figuring out what the right variables are for you and applying them can be a tricky road. So what to do?

There are definitely times in your life when you are happy, even if it is just for a small moment. Even if you are reading this article thinking that you are generally unhappy, there is definitely something going well in your life. That's our biggest tip! Find the things that are going well and multiply them. As a result, you will reach the formula I explained above, but in a shorter way.

I usually give the following suggestion to my clients after the first session:

“You know very well what things are going wrong in your life, so what? things going well. These are fine as they are. What are the things you say you definitely want to stay the same and not change? Focus on these until the next session and try to notice them.”

You cannot believe how effective this simple suggestion has been in people's lives and in solving their problems. Actually, what we do is simple: instead of focusing on the problem and asking how to solve it, we focus on what is good and say how to increase it.

In fact, this is exactly what we call focusing on the positive, which is the trendy concept of recent times. Otherwise, there is no benefit in attributing every problem we encounter to the good, like Pollyanna.

For a day, "What makes me feel good today?" Have you ever tried to find an answer to the question? Try! I think you won't regret it. At least you have nothing to lose, right?
