Why do children play? Does he say, "Let me throw these shapes into the appropriate holes so that my cognitive development can be supported"? Does he say, "Wait, let me shuffle these cards, AA cat. The cat says meow. Let me imitate a cat. Meow. Oh, how nice it is that my language development has been supported." Or does he say, "Let me jump on this bed. According to research, this is very beneficial for my body awareness and motor development"? Of course, our answer to these is no, right? Children do not think in such complicated ways. They act with their instincts and focus on whatever gives them pleasure at the moment and whatever game they want to play. In this way, they have the opportunity to better observe and explore what is happening around them in depth. They satisfy their curiosity. The more they enjoy it, the more they want to play, the more they interact with the environment, and this comes from within. This place is very important. In fact, the most important duty of us parents, child development experts or educators should be to progress under the guidance of children. What does my child like? Which game gives him pleasure? Jumping, running, being in motion? Then, we can say that this is how I can teach him the skills I want to acquire and support his development. For example, if we want to teach color, we can play a game of throwing the red ball into the red bucket. If we want to teach counting, we can count 1 2 3 while jumping. If he likes to run, we can expand it by saying, "Let's see, now we will run fast and throw the ball into the basket, now we will run slowly, now we will crawl.." In fact, they reflect back to us whatever they enjoy and "they learn by having fun". Here, if we focus too much on teaching and ignore the things the child is interested in, if we confront our child who loves to move and try to move forward without adding fun to the task by saying "Look, baby, this is red, this is 1, this is big...", our child will naturally get bored. For this reason, the main purpose of the game should be to have fun. When this happens, make sure that learning comes in the best way possible. PLEASANT TIMES SPENT WITH YOUR PARENTS ARE OF COURSE THE MOST PRECIOUS.
