The nutrition of children in this period is no different from other members of the family. However, the amount of nutrients that must be taken daily in terms of continued growth and development is different from other members of the family. Do not compare what your child eats with other children!!!
- In this age group, foods are identified by their colour, shape and quantity. In fact, it is the period when liked and disliked foods are distinguished.
- It is a very important period in which the awareness of adequate and balanced nutrition can develop in the child.
- This period is an important time for your child to develop positive habits towards food.
- Energy intake must be full. The growth rate of our children in the play age and preschool period is not as fast as in infancy, but their energy intake must be adequate for their growth and development.

PLEASE;
Do not fight with your child to feed him… Know that he is now an individual and can eat when he is hungry… You can guide your child and set an example, but you cannot force him to eat. Children imitate the feeding behaviors they see at home.
Do not give your child mixed foods. Because your child should be aware of what he eats.
Include physical activity during the day. It is recommended that children under 2 years of age should not watch television and for children over 2 years old, it should be limited to 2 hours a day.
Children of play age should not watch television. and the portions for school starters should be 1/3 of the adult portion. Some publications recommend 1 tablespoon as a measurement for each age.
