Breathing Exercise

Using your breath like an iron hoe is a method that will work for you in any situation. In a swelled ocean and a strong wind, it is the anchor that prevents the ship from being swept away and lost in the ocean. Even in strong storms, the ship does not move when we anchor. The breath we take also plays a role in helping us find balance when it is our anchor point in the face of difficulties. Breathing exercise does not relieve distressing feelings, and that is not its purpose. The purpose of these applications is to "anchor" and be fixed instead of being swept away in your emotions. This is different from destroying emotions. After all, what we want is not to destroy those feelings, but to change our attitude towards them.

When you do breathing exercise, unwanted emotions continue, but at the same time, the person becomes a calm and clinging person by controlling himself. Therefore, instead of responding to the incoming emotion on a reactive autopilot (for example, shouting, crying when I am angry, etc.), it allows you to stay calm with that emotion and make the right choices with conscious awareness.

Breathing exercise provides the foundations that will be useful in any difficult situation. It will help you find balance when you find yourself caught up in thoughts and feelings, when you feel stuck in a storm. It helps you respond to this storm in a way that is appropriate for you, rather than a reactive and automatic response to it. When you concentrate on your breath, you can take yourself to the anchor point, the center, and find a quiet space to choose how you want to live.

The critical point here is; If you practice when everything is calm, it will be easier for you to do this exercise when things get tough. With your daily practices, you can find the calmness within you that will allow you to be more flexible in dealing with the difficulties you encounter.
