Spring has come. Everywhere started to freshen up. While eating the first ice cream of the year, I felt like talking to you about the subject of "balance". What is this balance?
According to positive psychotherapy, it is possible for a person to develop with four basic capacities. These areas are our physical, mental, social and spiritual capacities. The main purpose of positive psychotherapy is to help the individual develop their capacities and achieve balance in daily life. Now review, how many points out of 25 do you give yourself in each of the following areas?
After giving your scores in each area, combine the points you determined for your scores. How close is the shape you get to the square as you put it together, that is, it is “balanced”.
The first capacity I want to address is the body/senses. Now try to answer these questions:
What are your physical complaints?
How do you evaluate your appearance?
Do you see your body as a friend or enemy?
Is it important for you whether your partner is beautiful or handsome?
Which of the five senses means the most to you?
Which part of your body do you react with when you get angry?
How do you act when your spouse gets sick? ?
Do you need too much or too little sleep?
How do illnesses affect your outlook on life or your approach to the future?
Does your family attach great importance to looking good, sports activities and physical health?
Who in your family caressed you, kissed you and was he kind?
As a child, was it important to have a lot of food in your home? What was the motto in your family?
How did your family react when you played with your body (e.g. thumb sucking, masturbation)?
When you played with your body as a child How were you punished (beating, humiliating, threatening, shouting, forbidding food, not showing affection, etc.)?
As a child, were you obliged to go to school even if you were sick?
When you were sick as a child, were you immediately sent to bed?
Child Who would take care of you when you were sick when you were younger?
Did you have a realization when you reviewed your answers and the score you gave yourself? Have you been able to recognize your physical needs such as nutrition, self-care and sleep? Have you watched, smelled, tasted, touched or listened to something you liked lately?
The area you want to start with may be the one in which you rate yourself lower, but we can also get our energy and motivation from our relatively developed capacity.
