We used to watch these days in movies years ago. There were fantasy movies where suddenly the world turned upside down and we moved into a dystopian world. At first, there were scenes that reminded me of the dystopian world in those movies. People could not think that the process, which started with the virus that infected a few people in China, could spread all over the world in a short time, affect so much, and that we would not be able to get rid of its effects for a long time.
“Our age could not think of this” p>
Our age could not think about this because the idea that the modern age could handle and overcome everything was dominant. There might have been such problems in primitive times, but an epidemic could not cause problems in the modern age. It was thought that this would not be a handicap for modern people in an age when science, medicine and technology were so advanced. First of all, this situation affected people psychologically: Encountering such a problem in an age where humanity is progressing in this way. The idea of "what can one do" was a little more acceptable for people living in other ages. That's how they saw the plague and cholera. Although today's people cannot overcome this, the current situation of masks, social distance, etc. We experienced the shock of "what is this?" It is an undeniable fact that the first emotion experienced is surprise rather than fear. Immediately afterwards, there were perceptions that world powers could overcome this and normal life would be resumed as soon as possible. But unfortunately, this did not happen.
In some countries such as Italy, which did not attach importance to health infrastructure, there was a great chaos with the pandemic shock. When we look at Turkey, from the first moment the virus entered Turkey's borders, common sense emerged. We did not experience any confusion when the Minister of Health was in control of the situation and the measures were not delayed like Iran. The availability of medicines in stock and the immediate opening of new hospitals had a great impact here. While the necessary precautions were being taken, it was a wearing reality to put our warm and close-knit nature, which is our social characteristic in terms of communication and relationships, into that cold distance. Because we love sincerity and being face to face. Our current habits such as holding cologne for guests, washing our hands when we come from outside, and washing our hands before and after eating will become a burden again. We remembered it out loud.
“People are controlled by fear”
Fear is a very necessary emotion that protects people. It is one of the basic emotions that ensure human life safety. Without fear, we would not learn to protect ourselves. Fear enables learning at a certain decibel. Otherwise, everything would happen all over again every time. In this case, it is necessary to distinguish fears from phobias. Fear is an emotion that causes people to take precautions and show their stance in some situations. However, when fear is used as a general perception and the method of intimidation turns into anxiety. It turns into an anxious and anxious state. Fear has often been used for control purposes throughout world history. People are controlled by fear. Nowadays, we are moving towards a direction where people can control and internalize themselves with information. It is desired that this should be internalized more and precautions should be taken in this way, rather than based on fear. If we adopt a lifestyle that does not risk our own health or the health of others, we will be able to control fear. Now, even when we sneeze, we wonder. Because we are talking about something invisible, floating in the air, and not well known. A database was created based on people who got sick, based on doctors' comments. We are faced with something that has no history. By nature, humans are afraid of something they do not know.
You know, we have a phrase called "fearless coward". Let's interpret this expression based on the experienced process.
Negation. Denial is a defense mechanism. You feel a great fear inside you, and you have questions about the subject. In fact, it has imprisoned you inside. You put forward a defense mechanism to cope with this. Just as our body resists when faced with a virus, the psyche also defends itself against any situation. But using these defense mechanisms too much or in a way that affects the quality of life is harmful. A certain amount of concern is required. You can't just sit on a branch and look around like a carefree owl. I'm talking about a little concern. It opens a channel of thought for that person. It allows you to think about the subject. Why worry about something you never care about or worry about? Let it be known. But if this anxiety imprisons you and is on top of your head when it should be in the palm of your hand, you will make some defenses about this situation. You try to calm yourself down by disrupting your system or by denying it and saying, "No such thing, dear, these are all American games..." This is like deceiving yourself, but in that person's inner world, anxiety has taken over the person so much that he tries to protect his system by denying it. Someone else can also do intellectualism. He reads a lot on the subject and watches open discussions. This is also a coping situation.
“It shouldn't just be the pain”
Finally, people who are infected with the virus or may be infected with it To get through it with minimal damage, the following can be suggested.
What did they see from here? What did it show them when they looked inside? Have they ever weighed their lives after going through this? Has a fusion been opened for them from now on? Has a door of insight been opened or is this just a lament? Was it just a pain he had? Some things happen only in pain. It remains experienced as pain. Human beings should not just take the pain out of what they experience. He must open a door for himself through pain. Even a negative situation should bring a positive to that person. Did that plus come or not? Did he see his weakness? Nurallah Genç says, “Weakness is power.”
Finally, I would like to make a suggestion by talking about my own process. In the last days of March, I started to lose interest. Then my process started in the hospital. Since I was one of the first to suffer from it - at a time when even doctors were confused - I did not have much treatment at home. I had planned a holiday to Spain for the period I was sick, but instead of Spain, I stayed with myself in the hospital. There was a bed in the room, there were medicines, and there was me. From time to time, nurses and doctors would come and go wearing alien costumes. You see nurses and so on with only one eye. At that time, I thought about my helplessness like this: While he was going to travel freely on holiday, now he is lying in the hospital room and is grateful to be able to go to the toilet. He is grateful that he is not connected to a machine and that he can stand up and take care of his own needs. I was going to Barcelona to take care of myself, but I took care of myself in the hospital room for five days. Maybe I found a time to be more interested in my own truths than I have ever been in my life. What would you do if you were normally healthy? You want to read a book, watch a TV series, do something you haven't done before, but there is nothing you can do there. Since there is no loss of consciousness during the disease process, the disease causes you to say, "This is who you are." I thank God for giving me the opportunity to think about the possibility of going from state to state, and about your relationship with your Lord, who takes you from state to state.
