Overweightis a disease that we must protect or fight against throughout our lives. Even if we are not overweight, we should be careful not to be overweight throughout our lives.If we are overweight, we should immediately start the necessary treatment and diet.
Overweight, that is, obesity, occurs when the energy in food and drinks entering the body turns into fat if it is not burned. A person can easily understand that he is overweight even when he looks in the mirror. Because the body lines are distorted, it cannot fit into daily clothes. At the same time, a person can understand that he is fat by using his Body Mass Index.
Body mass index calculation is something that a person can do himself with a simple mathematical calculation. The account used is as follows; The person's weight measured on the scale is divided by the square of his height in meters.
For example, let's assume that you are 170 centimeters, that is, 1.70 meters tall, and weigh 70 kilograms. The calculation to be made is as follows; You find the square meter of your height by calculating 1.7 x 1.7 = 2.89. Then, you reach your body mass index result with the result 70 (your weight) / 2.89 = 24.22.
If the result you find is between 18.5 - 25, it means you are at your ideal weight. Therefore, you should maintain this weight. Likewise, if the value is below 18.5, you need to gain weight, and if it is above 25, you need to lose weight. People with a body mass index between 25 and 30 are considered overweight, while those with a body mass index between 30 and 40 are considered overweight. Therefore, they need to receive treatment immediately. Being underweight is as dangerous as being overweight. People with results below 18.5 should receive the same treatment. Because people who need to gain weight because they are underweight does not mean that they can eat the food in front of them. They should gain weight by following a regular and healthy nutrition program.
The harms of being overweight are as follows;
- Lack of motivation.
- Discomfort in the joint areas.
- Hip and spine pain.
- Back pain in women due to large breasts.
- Continuous tendency to get tired.
- Continuous breathing during small movements. s breathlessness.
- Not being able to run and having difficulty on stairs.
- Being stuck in brisk walks.
- Having to wear oversized clothes.
- Young making one look old despite being at that age.
These obesity-related factors are only factors that negatively affect a person's daily life. Because serious health problems triggered by obesity may occur.
