Child's Age and Behaviors Changing According to Age

Every age introduces children to a different behavioral pattern. While at some ages the child lives a very calm life, at other ages we encounter a very difficult situation dominated by stubbornness. Since all of these are natural parts of development, they should be considered normal by the parent and the child should be approached with the right attitude.

In this article, we will examine some developmental characteristics of 7-year-old, 8-year-old, 9-year-old and 10-year-old children.

>7 YEARS OLD

7 years old is the age when withdrawal, calmness and the inner world begin to be discovered. During this period, a persistent character is observed in the child. We encounter a child who wants to finish what he started and stand out as the best at what he does. In other words, a 7-year-old child has high expectations for himself. In addition, the child may experience intense anxiety during this age period. A 7-year-old child who begins to explore the inner and outer world may begin to develop some fears even on subjects he/she used to know. Topics such as death and war may be encountered as some of the fears felt during this period.

AGE 8

The age of 8 is a period in which extroversion is intense. The child begins to accelerate in routine activities such as eating, reading and writing. Family and friendship relationships begin to gain importance. However, he continues to maintain his most important relationship with his mother. In fact, the inability to share with the mother and the resulting obvious jealousy may occur during this period.

From time to time, he may challenge those around him with his aggressive behavior. At the same time, due to his developed verbal skills, "adult-like speech" can be observed by those around him.

9 YEARS OLD

A 9-year-old child appears in an anxious and restless mood. This In this period, the child focuses on himself. They may not pay attention to what their parents say and sometimes even go against their warnings. It is a period when individual differences come to the fore. Therefore, each child may have a different interest and focus on a different theme. For example, some children have a tendency to watch violent movies compared to their peers, while others show distinct individual differences such as giving more importance to money compared to their peers. It may be of importance.

AGES 10

After the age of 9, devotion to the family becomes more intense at the age of 10, and they begin to love their family more. They participate in activities with the family. The desire to participate increases during this period. The relationship with the mother is trusting and trouble-free. The child's interests begin to diversify during this period. The tension of the age of 9 fades into the background and is replaced by docility and harmony.

The period of age 10 is called the "golden age". Because at this age, the child's development is balanced and more maturations begin to be seen compared to the past.

As parents, we should not forget that each age has a different developmental pattern and behavioral characteristics that may change accordingly, and with the awareness of this, we should pay attention to our behavior and attitudes towards our children. Every child's development is different. Therefore, we may sometimes encounter early or late occurrence of these behavioral characteristics.

What needs to be done is to evaluate the child depending on his age and get psychological support from an expert if abnormal situations are thought to occur.
