The Missing Piece in Eye Aesthetics is "Ptosis"

What does ptosis mean? In Latin, it means falling, sagging. Eyelids age over time. This manifests itself as sagging and excess skin of the lid. Eyes start to look tired and dark. The solution to this problem is eyelid aesthetics. But in some cases, this standard surgery is not enough. The eyes still look tired and sleepy. It is impossible to be happy with such an outcome. So what could be missing?

Of course, "ptosis" of the lid or eyebrow. Let's take a simple look at the eyelid anatomy to understand this term. The visible part of the eyelid is the skin. There is a round eyelid muscle just below it. You know, the muscle that wrinkles when we laugh, that's it. If we go below that muscle - which is half a millimeter - there is a muscle called "levator" that helps open the eyelid. The levator muscle is a piece of muscle that can only be noticed with special glasses. It is a voluntary muscle. In other words, we open and close our eyelids whenever we want. In some cases, the levator muscle terminates unnecessarily long and in some cases too early. In this case, we are talking about levator insufficiency. In case of insufficiency, the valve level remains slightly lower than it should be. This is the problem that makes a person look tired and bored.

In such a situation, a method called the levator procedure can be added to eyelid aesthetics. It should even be added. However, adding this maneuver to standard aesthetics requires special expertise. Adding this operation to aesthetics does not create any extra scars. In this way, more vibrant and energetic looking lids can be achieved in a single surgery.

Another "ptosis" problem may occur in the eyebrows. It is not normal for the eyebrows to be lower than they should be. The distance between the eyebrows and eyelashes has a certain standard, and this is determined by the golden ratio. In patients with drooping eyebrows, eyebrow lifting should be added to eyelid aesthetics.

Brow lift procedure The choice of technique should be determined according to the patient's examination.
