The Meaning of Life is in the Spoon

I think about the chair I'm sitting on right now, or let me think about my phone. Would these objects have any meaning if I or anyone else did not use this chair or phone? I think objects gain meaning as long as people exist. If I exist, the chair I sit on, the place I live, the work I do, the people I meet, the music I listen to, the places I visit gain meaning. All of this seems to have no meaning on its own; if I exist or we exist, everything gains meaning. Then, can we say that it is we who give meaning to life?

According to Austrian psychiatrist Victor Frankl, humans must search for meaning in order to give meaning to life and fill it with purpose. A person can find the meaning of life even while suffering, that is, what motivates a person is the need to make his own life meaningful. There is no one meaning that applies to everyone, it varies from person to person. It can change constantly.

According to Alfred Adler, the meaning of life is shaped by our ability to contribute something to the lives of others. Our life will only gain meaning when we are useful to others.

A story... One day, when a person who wondered about the purpose and meaning of life came to his mind, he started talking about this issue with the people around him, had conversations, but unfortunately the answers he received did not satisfy him. . He traveled from village to village, from town to town, and chatted with the people there, hoping that maybe if I talked to different people about this issue, I would find an answer. However, he could not get any results from his conversations and now he fell into despair, but he still did not give up searching for the meaning of life. One day, he heard the name of a wise man in one of the towns he went to. Thinking maybe he could learn the purpose of life from him, he immediately set off, and the road led him to a house with a garden. The wise man greeted him with a smiling face, they started chatting, and the wise man left and came back with a spoon of oil. Wise: “There is oil in the spoon, I want you to walk around the house without spilling the oil, watching your surroundings.” said. Ours immediately did what the wise man said and went around the house. When Bilge asked what he saw around the house, our answer was, "I only paid attention to the spoon and didn't look around to avoid spilling the oil." said. Thereupon, the wise man asked him to wander around the garden with the spoon again. He immediately fulfilled the wise man's request and gardened. He started to travel by watching. But the garden was so beautiful that people forgot about themselves, not just the spoon. When he went to the wise man, the wise man looked at the spoon and started talking: "Life is shaped according to the way you look at it. You either see one point and do not look at anything else and your life flows by without realizing it, or you live your life trying to see all the beauties you can see and your life gains meaning as time goes by." . The meaning of life is revealed in your perspective, in what you see...”

The meaning of life is hidden in the way we look at it. Life alone is meaningless, it is we, what we do and what we will do, that will give it meaning. Every person is the architect of his own house of life. I hope you find the meaning of your life.
