Introverted or Shy? Or Is It Social Anxiety?

All of us, at some point in our lives, have probably seen parents who stated that their child is a little introverted or shy, or we have talked about this feature of another person or complained about him. It is necessary to distinguish between the features of extroversion and shyness. Since both of these characteristics are explained by limited participation in social life, they are often confused with each other. Since the extrovert personality structure subconsciously is identified with high welfare level, leadership, protectiveness and beauty in Western culture, the introverted structure has not attracted attention and been not sufficiently investigated by people.

Shyness and social anxiety are negative experiences, observations, These are behaviors learned through susceptibility and attachment style, and include behaviors such as rejection, judgment, misunderstanding, excessive self-focus, excessive sensitivity to the behavior shown, distorted and unbalanced thinking. It is thought and behavior patterns that can be re-learned through behavioral experiments and can be controlled by the limiting aspects of the person. It is a personality construct. Introverted people are overstimulated in crowded, fast and active environments due to the hypersensitivity in their nervous systems and they tend to avoid them. They get their spiritual strength mostly from controlled activities performed alone, from a calm mindset and activities where they can reflect themselves comfortably.

While they quickly participate and react to events, activities and groups with extroverts, they inward Introverted people first observe, analyze, and then decide. They do not enjoy risky sports, speeding, an overly active sex life, and controversial environments. It's not about not loving other people, being afraid of them, or preferring solitude. The subject is where and how the spiritual energy is taken, the brain's external stimuli (object, which job, situation, event) is how he reacts. While some personality structures are at the end of the introverted personality line, most people are in the middle. So most people are a bit introverted and a bit extroverted. People of both structures can be a good leader, a good thinker, a good friend, or a spouse. Personality structures and behaviors that attract attention during their periods and whether they pose a problem can be considered as what they affect in daily life, to what extent and for how long. These are the conditions that can be resolved with treatment if it is thought to be caused by treatment.
