WISC – R intelligence test It was prepared for adults in 1939. This scale, briefly called W-B(Wechsler-Bellevue), was renewed in 1955 and its name was changed to WAIS (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale). It was developed by David Wecsler (1896-1981) in 1949 and WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children) was prepared for children aged 6-16, 11. This scale was reviewed and standardized in 1974, thus WISC-R (Revised) emerged. Wechsler later prepared the WPPSI (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Preschoolers) for preschoolers aged 4-6 and 2. Although the age groups targeted by the Wechsler scales are different from each other, there are Verbal and Production (Performance) sections in all three scales. Both sections consist of different subsections or scales. The most important benefit of the new system introduced by Wechsler is to see the child's place among his peers and to make some comparisons over time. The WISC-R intelligence test, which is applied to individuals between the ages of 6-16, is administered individually in approximately 60-70 minutes.
