Happiness can be a goal that some people pursue their entire lives. He makes an effort to be happy, spends energy, sometimes observes the "happy" people around him, tries to do what they do, etc. takes many initiatives. Others just want it and complain about not being happy. He rebels, thinking that others are lucky to be happy and that he will never be given that chance. Others don't rebel, they just say that this is what they have been given, that something is "abnormal" or "missing" in them. Of course, there are many attitudes other than these.
Have we ever looked at the act of “trying to be happy”? How is it possible to achieve happiness when we try to be so happy, rebel because we are not happy, or think we are abnormal because we are unhappy? “If you're looking for everlasting happiness, you must first accept that nothing lasts forever.” By the nature of life, everything has an end. For this reason, it will be useful for us to know that happiness and joy, like sadness, fear, and anger, are just an emotion, that it comes and goes, and that it can go away when it completes its function. Otherwise, when we act in line with the goal of "being happy", we will not only be able to achieve this goal, but we will also become tired with the energy spent on something we cannot achieve. Because it's like swimming to reach the horizon or running to touch the rainbow. How much energy will we spend going to the one that will never be reached, and how do you think we will feel while consuming this energy?
“So what shall we do?” If you are asking, first of all, thank your mind for bringing this question. When you start giving thanks, give thanks for everything you are grateful for, even if you think you have nothing, always give thanks for the breath that is with you. Then set out to find out what is really important to you, how you would like to have lived when this life is over, how you want to relate to yourself and others: your values. When you find these, happiness and sorrow, sadness and joy begin to accompany you as you act in line with them.
