Many neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, some ear, nose and throat problems, irritable bowel syndrome, sudden discontinuation of alcohol and benzodiazepine-derived green prescription drugs may also cause panic attack-like symptoms. In daily life, a heavy meal after a long fast, insomnia, high amounts of caffeine consumption, smoking, and taking stimulant nutritional supplements, even if they are herbal, are common. It may trigger a panic attack. Or, if the person has a tendency to have a panic attack, it may occur.
