Yoga in Psychotherapy

YOGA IS THE OLDEST KNOWN WAY TO INCREASE PSYCHOLOGICAL FLEXIBILITY, COGNITIVE CAPACITY, MENTAL STRENGTH, ENDURANCE AND CAPACITY TO DEAL WITH STRESS. ITS EFFECT IS CONSTANT WITH HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOGA AND PSYCHOLOGY IS ALSO WORTH A CLOSER EXAMINATION...

Yoga is actually the state of being able to take the functioning of nature into ourselves and to re-enter the form of nature. Only the form of the human has changed. We can find the essence again and get in touch with ourselves. That's why there are postures such as animal and nature.

BODY AWARENESS: THE MORE FLEXIBLE THE BODY IS, THE MORE FLEXIBLE THE MIND IS.

Emotional Disorder in Yoga Terminology, Manas Shakti (Mental Element) and Pranashakti (Necessary). It is a result of the imbalance between the elements.

If there is excess mental energy but lack of prana, the person experiences introversion, depression, anxiety and fatigue. He Loses His Dynamism and Cannot Transform His Mental Energy into Creative Action.

Conversely, if a person has too much Prana but not enough Manas (Mind), it becomes very destructive and harmful. Excess of Uncontrolled Energy Can Put a Person in a Difficult Situation.

A balanced physical posture developed through yoga postures also provides physical, mental, emotional and spiritual balance. Head, neck, back and waist pains, difficulty in concentration and thinking, irritability, tension and anger are soothed. Since the sympathetic nervous system is stimulated, the body relaxes and sleep quality improves. Well-being and perspective on life change positively. the mind calms down and awareness increases. With this introspection, emotions calm down and excitement and anxiety decrease. It is beneficial in preventing and treating depression and anxiety disorders.

Thanks to yoga, positive body image, self-confidence and positive self-esteem develop. The individual gains a more realistic, positive, flexible and universal view of himself. As the body becomes more agile, flexible and strong, the mind becomes clear, and emotions become balanced, physical, mental and emotional stability and confidence emerge. As a result of the development of body-mind dialogue, the individual begins to listen to the needs of the body.
