The hymen, which can be damaged due to sexual intercourse, accidents or operations, is not formed at birth in some women, or if it is too flexible, it does not rupture despite sexual intercourse. The hymen, which has no known anatomical function, is considered the symbol of virginity in some societies.
The hymen is not damaged only due to sexual intercourse

Does the hymen heal on its own?
If it is damaged and loses its structural integrity, it cannot repair itself. When the hymen is torn, a hymen repair operation, also known as hymen stitching and hymen repair, must be performed to make the hymen whole again. Repair of the hymen is also called “hymenoplasty”.
How is Hymenoplasty Performed?
Hymenoplasty Membrane repair can be carried out in two different ways: temporary and permanent. If the hymen is to be repaired temporarily, it should be done shortly before the hymen will be deformed again, maximum 1 week before. Patients can return to their homes after the procedure performed under local or general anesthesia.
If the hymen will be permanently stitched, hymenoplasty is performed with the flap method. In the flap method, a thin tissue is removed from the vaginal walls and a membrane similar to the hymen is created. Even if bleeding does not occur, resistance may be encountered at the entrance to the vagina because a permanent membrane is made. �r.
Is Hymen Repair Noticeable?
One hundred percent bleeding will occur in those who have sexual intercourse after hymen repair. It is not right to say such a thing. In fact, it is not possible to say that even hymens that have not been damaged before will definitely cause bleeding during sexual intercourse. As I stated in the introduction of my article, some women's hymens have an elastic structure and the membranes of this structure only rupture during vaginal birth. Likewise, if there are very few vessels in the hymen, bleeding due to sexual intercourse may not occur.
