Carotenoids and Their Relationship with Cancer

Hello everyone!
While talking about carotenoids, I would like to remind you of this word first: “antioxidant”
In other words, it is our only savior that fights oxidative stress in the body for us.
It is essential in the body – in a sense, it is certain. We can say that they must be present - these carotenoids must be taken from outside for the synthesis of vitamins (especially vitamin A)!
So, what do carotenoids do?

They provide a serious increase in oxidation sensitivity within the cell, especially since they can absorb ultraviolet rays. This, of course, makes them a very powerful antioxidant. Among the carotenoids, ß-carotene, which I frequently mention to my clients; Since it inhibits cell growth, we can say that it indirectly prevents the growth of fat cells, that is, hypertrophic fatness.

So why did we start directly with ß-carotene?
Yes, friends, because it is a very strong anti-cancer agent. We can call it protective. Studies have shown that ß-carotene; It has been observed that it significantly reduces the risk of cancer, especially lung cancer, by protecting cells from oxidative damage. Of course, I do not want to create the perception that "we can fight cancer only by increasing ß-carotene intake". But I wholeheartedly believe that it will be very useful. Along with ß-carotene, another carotenoid that supports us with its anti-oxidant properties in the fight against cancer is “Lycopene”.

It is actually a frequently asked carotenoid. When I said lycopene, one of the carotenoids, I asked "what was that?" We can also say that it is a subject that I have been exposed to. Because we are rightly a little unfamiliar with the word carotenoid. This friend of ours takes its name from the tomato itself, dear friends, and it is a red color pigment found in several plants, especially tomatoes. We can say that it is one of the most powerful carotenoid anti-oxidants found in the human body. Although it is especially found in tomatoes, we can also find it in watermelon, melon, grapefruit, apricot, papaya, guava and rosehip.

In short, my most important advice to you in order to provide a protective effect against cancer and cardiovascular diseases will be this. Include plenty of salads in your life. Carrots and tomatoes should definitely be in your salads. In addition, 1 – 2 per day Consume a portion size of fruits, especially red and orange fruits.

If we talk about the weight loss aspect of the matter; The more antioxidants, the tighter and healthier your body. What is more important than losing weight is protecting your body against diseases. Especially these ancient friends of ours – carotenoids – should be an important companion on our journey to stay healthy.

I wish you all healthy and happy days.
