Let your child guide you on this matter. When your child starts to show interest in what's going on with his body, introduce him to the toilet environment and the potty. The ideal time for this is after the age of 2. However, remember that every child is different, do not compare your child with other children and do not act in a hurry.
By the time the child is 3 years old, most children have gained bowel and bladder control. In a small portion of the population, this condition may last up to 4 years of age. There is nothing to worry about. In most children, development follows this order: bowel control at night, bowel control during the day, bladder control during the day, and finally bladder control at night.
