"How Should I Cope with My Mom and Dad's Divorce?"

Age Group: 9-12

Problems that children are likely to encounter are presented under headings.

After explaining the problem under each title, advice for children was shared under the title "It's your turn to play" and the "Golden Rule" for each topic was shared.

The book has a humorous language that can attract the attention of the age group.

An example title from the book

“It's because of my father that we don't have a penny left”

Golden Rule: A father is not a wallet!

Before giving the book to your child I especially recommend you to read it.

You need to have read the book in order to be able to answer the questions you may encounter in the same humorous tone as the book and not to be surprised by the questions to come.

We have a wonderful book on recognizing emotions and understanding divorce.

Mother and father can read this book together with the child. As recommended in the For Parents section of the book, parents' knowledge of divorce and its effects on children can prepare them for the child's drawings and perceptions they will encounter in the book.

The book progresses step by step.

Change,

Understanding Divorce,

Emotions Towards Divorce,

Emotions Expressing,

Living with Divorced Parents,

Keeping Up with the Changing World are the titles in the book.

Each title includes psycho-education and then a painting section.

The book wants the child to describe his/her feelings and what is happening in his/her life by drawing from beginning to end.

It would be nice to give your child colorful pencils along with the book. I recommend you to read the book before giving it to your child.

You can even make the drawings requested in the book elsewhere.

To understand your feelings and the difficult time you are going through. There will be a door.

Another wonderful book with no age limit!

The story of a cute little boy who sees his divorced parents as monsters.

How do you think a child would characterize the emotional and behavioral processes experienced by parents during the divorce phase?

The little boy, whose mother and father are monsters, accepts his monsters with such compassion and waits patiently for them to get through the process that eventually our monster returns to "normal" .

It's really good with its drawings and perspective!

I recommend you read the book before giving it to your child. Read it like this, close it, then just look at the pictures and then read it again, you will see that it is really good.

Reading this book will make the “monster” parent feel understood.

The book made me very sad.

There are parents whose parents are divorced but who do not say anything to the child. In the book.

The child tries to make sense of this as he goes to his mother and father.

Combined with the drawings, the child's effort to make sense of it broke my heart.

Then he makes a friend and does a puzzle with him, where our hero discovers that his mother and father are incompatible pieces of the puzzle.

The metaphor is very beautiful and valuable for children as it explains that mothers and fathers are good people separately, but they cannot adapt together.

But the child is very lonely throughout the book!

Parents are never made to talk.

While reading as a parent, you can see how unspoken things hurt children.

I recommend reading with the child.

I recommend you read the book before giving it to your child.
