These cysts, which we can define as water-filled sacks formed as a result of enlargement of the milk ducts in the breast, can be seen in most women.
While some of these may disappear within a year, there are also cysts that can still be seen after 3-5 years. In addition, this type of milk-filled sacs called galactocele may occur in breastfeeding women.
Cysts in the breast, which sometimes grow and shrink depending on menstrual periods, are also common conditions that women experience.
These are not detectable. Types that do not cause pain or any discomfort do not require follow-up, but the fluid in painful and palpable cysts can be drained by injection when necessary.
In recurrent cases or if the fluid taken is bloody, pathological control is required.
