Neither situation is normal.
Mild anxiety is beneficial as it helps the person be polite, planned and productive in daily life. We talk about harmful anxiety if the person's anxiety level is high enough to cause tension in daily life, decreased attention, and an unproductive and restless day.
The severity of anxiety ranges from mild anxiety to severe anxiety accompanied by fears of death and going crazy. It can range from panic attack levels. Harmful anxiety may last a few hours, or it may continue for a few days, a few months, a few years or even longer. It is possible to briefly categorize anxiety symptoms into two groups; psychological and physical symptoms. The physical symptoms of anxiety occur with the overactivity of the autonomic nervous system (OSS), which we can call the neural network that exists in every human being from birth and works involuntarily.
When anxiety is intense, these people; getting angry quickly, crying easily, being touchy, tired, not being able to find solutions, feeling of helplessness, fear of going crazy, fear of sudden death, trembling in hands and feet, heart palpitations, feeling of tightness in the chest, feeling like drowning, sometimes diarrhea-nausea, feeling of restlessness in the abdominal area, Appetite and sleep disorders, dizziness, fainting, tingling sensation in the body, sweating, chills, hot flushes, inability to concentrate, absent-mindedness, forgetfulness, feeling that the whole or part of the body is changing, difficulty in recognizing the environment, acting as if you are in a foreign place, etc. These may be some of the symptoms. Long-lasting anxiety disorders can sometimes develop after an unexpectedly painful event, or sometimes after a physical illness or injury; for example; Sudden injury, heart attack, cancer diagnosis, high thyroid hormone levels, etc. In some people, long-term stress can cause physical illness to occur or worsen. can be, for example; high blood pressure, type-2 diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, muscle pain, etc. In people whose anxiety has lasted for a long time, in addition to the anxious state, another psychological problem such as depression often occurs.
To reduce harmful anxiety, regulation of daily life, hobby and occupation suggestions, various medications and psychotherapies are used. People with high anxiety levels should quit or reduce tea, coffee, chocolate, cola drinks and alcohol. You should do regular walking or relaxing exercise in clean and warm air for at least 30 minutes a day; If muscle pain is at the forefront, one should learn and apply gradual muscle tension-relaxation and breathing exercises.
