It is a surgical branch that applies diagnosis and treatment methods of surgical diseases related to congenital and/or acquired respiratory, digestive and excretory systems in childhood (0-18 years) from the neonatal period to adulthood.
Children are not scaled-down models of adults.
Childhood has its own unique diseases. Diseases seen in childhood show different characteristics depending on the period. Diagnosis and treatment of these diseases should be made taking into account the child's development, physiology and psychology. Diseases that require a surgical approach should be evaluated and performed by Pediatric Surgeons, who determine and apply specific diagnosis and treatment methods for the relevant issues.
Patients carry the good or bad consequences of a surgical intervention performed in childhood with them for a lifetime. For this reason, surgical interventions on children should be performed by well-trained Pediatric Surgeons.
• Nowadays, Laparoscopic (Closed Method)surgeries can now be performed widely in children. Especially laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, ovarian cysts and torsions, and undescended testicle investigations are performed in our hospital.
1-Hernia (HERIES) and Inguinoscrotal Region Diseases
The most frequently performed surgeries in pediatric surgery are inguinal region pathologies. Among these, hernia, water hernia and undescended testicle have an important place.
*Inguinal Hernia (Guinal Hernia) *Hydrocele (Water hernia) * Umbilical Hernia
*Cord Cyst *Nuck Cyst *Epigastric Hernia
*Undescended Testicle *Testicular Torsi Direction of the neonate strong>
