Prenatal screening and ultrasound tests (1st and/or 2nd trimester) and late fetal screening ultrasound (20-22w) are offered to all pregnant women, regardless of age. Chromosome analysis (amniocentesis, CVS) is recommended for risky results. In pregnancies over the age of 35, the recommendation of fetal chromosome cell screening tests in maternal (mother's) blood, which can be easily performed in the early period, instead of these screening tests, has recently been included in our pregnancy follow-up programs.

With advancing maternal age, the rates of gestational diabetes, hypertension, placental location anomalies, fetus presentation problems, operative vaginal birth, thrombosis risk, and postpartum hemorrhage increase compared to pregnancies under 35 years of age.
