Disorders occurring in the jaws affect the entire human body. If their jaws are not where they should be, this causes the eye plane to change. As soon as the eye plane changes, the head moves forward or backward.
Let's say the disorder that we call the second class skeletal disorder in which the lower jaw is located behind;
The patient reflexively moves his jaw to its original position more forward. When the chest plane moves upwards, the person will look upwards. This time he will bend his neck forward so that he can see the front. Thus, he will assume a cannibalized posture.
In the other condition, called third-class intermandibular disorder, the patient will try to move his lower jaw backwards because the lower jaw is positioned forward. While doing this, he will have to lean his head forward.
Since he shows his visual eyes downwards this time, he will want to make his visual plane parallel to the ground by bringing his chest forward from the shoulders.
In addition, the one-sided cross seen on the chins In cases of closing, a different mechanism comes into play.
Let's say the patient has a crossbite malocclusion on the right side. On this side, the lower jaw is located in front of the upper jaw. On the same side, upward and transverse growth occurs in the lower jaw. Transverse and upward growth is observed in the upper jaw. As a result of this upward growth in the upper jaw, there is a difference in the height of the eye on the same side compared to the side eye. It is at this point that the visual plane is disrupted. Unless the patient tilts his head to the right, he cannot make the visual plane parallel to the ground. Now the patient adopts this posture and the entire posture, from the neck, back, waist, knees and even to the bottom of the feet, is affected and disrupted. In this way, even the amount of force exerted by both feet on the ground was measured differently. Jaw disorders concern not only the jaws and the face, but also every part of our body from head to toe. Treatment is possible as soon as it is noticed.
