As the name suggests, the innocent murmur is a heart sound that can be heard during heart auscultation during a doctor's examination in innocent, that is, normal, healthy children.
How does the innocent murmur occur?
This murmur comes from the heart cavities, the heart. It occurs during the passage of blood through the valves or veins close to the heart. Some conditions;
- Fever
- Infection
- Anemia, may cause a murmur or change the intensity of the murmur. The sound produced for this reason is called functional murmur.
Innocent murmur is the type of murmur that can be heard in 70-75% of childhood.
