Is it possible to have rhinoplasty surgery in the summer months? This is one of the most frequently asked questions from my patients, whereas seasonal variables such as very hot or humid weather do not affect nose surgeries. Of course, there are points to be considered in nose surgeries, as in all surgeries. One of the most important things to pay attention to in summer is to protect yourself from sunlight. In addition, since it is the holiday season, our patients should be careful in activities such as tanning, pool and sea. After the surgery, the nose should not be exposed to direct sunlight between 10.00 and 17.00, when the sun rays are strongest. Additionally, in cases where it is not possible to use sunglasses, a hat should be preferred when going out in the sun.
You can swim in the sea after the critical period we will specify after the surgery. However, patients should be careful about direct contact with pool and sea water. The decrease in work intensity in summer and the holiday period are also ideal for the rest period after nose surgery. Especially my patients abroad prefer to have surgery in the summer. They take advantage of the summer by having both holidays and nose surgeries at the same time. There is no risk of rhinoplasty surgeries performed during the summer months if the recommendations are followed.
