This surgery, also called augmentation mammoplasty, is performed by placing silicone prostheses (implants) into the breast.
Purposes:
*To prevent volume loss after pregnancy. To make damaged and sagging breasts fuller and upright. The most commonly used implants today are those filled with silicone gel or serum in a silicone envelope. Implants can be of different volumes, smooth or textured, round in shape or anatomical (drop) shaped. To date, silicone implants have not been found to cause any carcinogenic, immunological or rheumatic diseases. It is used safely today.
Placement
Breast implants can be placed under the breast tissue or under the muscle under the breast (pectoral muscle). Since it does not damage the breast tissue, it does not harm breastfeeding. The most common problem with breast implants is the capsule tissue that forms around it. Since the implant is a foreign body, it is natural for a connective tissue membrane (capsule) to form around it. This capsule usually does not cause a problem. However, it can rarely thicken and become hard. Then it may need to be removed or discontinued. Capsule formation has been minimized thanks to the textured implants used today and the massages recommended after the operation.
Silicone implants do not interfere with the radiological examination (mammography) of the breast. Women can continue their routine breast checks and have mammography with their implants.
Anesthesia
Breast augmentation surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia. It is also possible to perform it with local anesthesia. In order to reduce bleeding, a special solution (serum-adrenaline) is injected into the breasts during the operation and blood loss is very low.
Operation scar
During the operation, implants are usually placed in the breast. 4 cm made on the underline. It is placed through an incision of . This operation scar can only be seen when the breast is lifted. The implant can sometimes optionally be placed through the nipple (areola) or axilla (armpit).
